Greg Hawley

Mr. Hawley brings more than 37 years of experience in leadership, finance, entrepreneurship and consultancy to eFormed Partners.  He has owned and operated 7 varied businesses which have included manufacturing, service and consulting.  One of the businesses, Obsidian Finance Group, LLC, which Hawley founded with 2 partners, was a niche private equity business which provided business structuring advice, purchased and sold loan securitization trusts and assisted Goldman Sachs & Co. with an asset liquidation for a $3 billion bankruptcy.  Hawley was CEO/CFO for Mid-Columbia Lumber Products, LLC, which he helped grow from $25 million in sales to $35 million in 15 months.  His strengths in executive leadership, finance, financial reporting, business structuring, entrepreneurialism, vision, strategic planning and inventory management bring an ideal skill set to the team.

 

Hawley served as Executive Vice President, CFO, Secretary and Treasurer for Willamette Industries, Inc. before the Company sold to Weyerhaeuser after a 16-month hostile takeover encounter.  Willamette was one of Oregon’s two Fortune 500 headquartered companies.  Hawley worked on the front lines of the hostile takeover defense with Company advisors, including Goldman Sachs & Co.  During his tenure at Willamette, the Company’s revenues grew over 30 percent to over $4.5 billion.  Hawley was involved in the acquisition of 5 companies, numerous asset acquisitions and dispositions, several capital and tax transactions including numerous debt offerings, a stock buy-back program and cross border lease transactions.  Hawley also worked for Nosler, Inc. in Bend, Oregon serving in several capacities including VP Finance, VP Plant Operations and VP Acquisition Integration.  Hawley’s career began by spending nine years with KPMG, where he served as a Senior Manager in Auditing and Accounting specializing in public reporting, registration statements and specialized accounting issues.

 

Hawley has served on numerous boards, both for profit and not-for-profit.  He graduated with honors with a BS degree in accounting from the University of Idaho and he received his Executive MBA from the University of Michigan.
